Here's another interesting thing you can do with that old Volkswagen when it reaches the end of the road...
I'm planning on dressing as Daniel Boone; I've already got a nice fake coonskin cap off ebay for six bucks. Oh, no wait. That may not play well in Texas... (Remember the Alamo?).
Plan B: Now I'm planning on dressing as a "Happy Camper"...
It's a cross between a rail dragster and a canoe. (Note the wheelie bars).
You push and pull on the paddle to steer. I'll replace the handle with a full size paddle for the parade.
Here's a close-up of the front end. Note the two small wheels side-by-side like a tractor. It makes it turn very smoothly at low speeds and satisfies the "must have four wheels on the ground to be an artcar" rule.
Now that she runs I'll be turning my atention to the paint job, faux birch bark with Injun symbols all over it...
She handles good!
Check back for updates! Yes, that's the Boatmobile in the back!
